Our parish was founded, and the first church building was built in 1888. In 1890 the first rectory was built. The first parish school, run by the Sisters of Divine Providence opened in 1894. A second was built in 1902 after the first was destroyed by fire. In 1924 the cornerstone for the present church was laid and the old church was remodeled into a parish hall. After the present rectory was built in 1948, the old rectory was remodeled into a convent for the sisters. The present school building was completed in 1954 and permanently closed its doors in 1965. There have been two renovations to the church – the first in 1967 and the latest in 1992.
